Turns out the linear-gradient in the background runs terrible on librewolf with or without webgl/hardware acceleration on. I don't know why, because it runs fine on Firefox. Anyways, I added a button to toggle the gradient or the background color just in case.
Oh also I reformmated a bunch of stuff (I should've been using grids...) and added cat ears.
It's on Svelte! Oh and i added Meow to the site. Surely this means it's easier to make changes going further
Hi gang, this is the last of the oregano changelogs (probably) before the big site overhaul.
Goodbye gradient background. (hi it's rez from the future i lied i got busy and ehhhh nahh)
oh and i added a bunch of brainrot quotes if you'd like to play rez quote slot machine
Improved site load times up to 70% just because I switched to using embedded SVGs for icons
instead of Font Awesome.
Before | After
And Font awesome sucks; I'll tell you why.
It's an incredibly convoluted system to just load icons that isn't even fair to devs. You have
to make an account and create a plan for one, but if your site gets viewed and the icon gets loaded
enough then you can lose money!! Because they'll charge you just to have their icons displayed!!
Not only that the content they serve you through those icons is incredibly bloated and way more
than "just" an icon (a bunch of extra CSS).
Just copy the svg data from here and embed it directly.
Thanks to Camo for showing me the icon pack (and Bootstrap
product I actually want to use.)
Also the Google font pack I was using was loading 2 fonts instead of 1. Oops. That has been
fixed.
tldr Everything should load faster now.
The performance might be negligible.
But I still think it matters.
